William Allen is an R&D engineer on Kitware’s Software Solutions Team located in Clifton Park, New York. He is currently enrolled in Kitware’s Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP). Under the OSTP, William has been gaining hands-on experience while working toward his master’s degree. This has allowed him to expand his knowledge in both an academic and professional setting. As a member of the OSTP, William is learning to develop innovative open source software platforms in the areas of computer vision, scientific computing, data and analytics, medical computing, and software solutions.

William received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
