Tyler Yankee joins Kitware as part of the Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP), where he helps develop open source software platforms in areas such as computer vision, scientific computing, and software solutions. He will also be pursuing a master’s degree while gaining valuable, hands-on experience.
Before joining Kitware, Tyler worked as undergraduate researcher at the Terascale All-Sensing Research Studio (TARS) at Clarkson University, where he designed multimodal sensing environments and analyzed data for virtual reality and human-robot interaction applications. Additionally, Tyler held internships at Altec, Inc. and SRC, Inc., where he optimized and validated computer vision algorithms for health-based virtual reality applications and contributed to radar software systems, respectively.
Tyler has a bachelor’s degree in computer science, with a minor in statistics, from Clarkson University. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
