Shelly Belsky is an R&D engineer on Kitware’s Medical Computing Team. She contributes to the development of image analysis and machine learning algorithms for various medical computing and computer science projects.

Shelly received her master’s degree in applied mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2024 as part of Kitware’s Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP). During her master’s studies, she specialized in computational mathematics and scientific computing while gaining hands-on experience. As a member of the OSTP, Shelly developed innovative open source software platforms for the Software Solutions Team and collaborated with customers to improve and develop robust build systems for large C++ and mixed-language projects.

Shelly received her bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
