RT Image Article on Quantitative Imaging
I recently contributed an article on quantitative imaging to RT Image, “Strengthening Research: Striving for better quantitative imaging in clinical trials”. Excerpt:
“Quantitative imaging algorithms need to adapt better to changes in acquisition systems and parameters since large multi-center clinical trials employ several imaging devices, and the equipment changes constantly. A robustness to variation in image acquisition devices and parameter settings is critical to establish quantitative imaging methods as standard endpoints in clinical trials.”
This was a good opportunity to highlight the open source Lesion Sizing Toolkit, the give-a-scan patient donated database, and other open science efforts which improve the way we measure response to lung cancer drug therapy.
