The University at Albany Libraries are celebrating Open Access Week 2013 with a program of student and faculty presentations on Wednesday, October 23. Open Access Week, a global event now entering its 7th year, is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn more about the benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in making Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research. Open Access to information – the free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and reuse those results as needed – has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted. It has direct and widespread implications for academia, medicine, science, industry, and society as a whole. Wednesday, October 23, 10AM – 12:30PM Program will be held in the Standish Room, 3rd Floor, Science Library. Beverages and appetizers will be served.
Off-campus guests, please contact Lorre Smith (LSmith@albany.edu) for parking information. Thanks to University Auxiliary Services for its generous support of this program. |
