Nicole Cheetham is an R&D engineer on Kitware’s Software Solutions Team located in Clifton Park, New York. She is currently enrolled in Kitware’s Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP). Under the OSTP, Nicole has been gaining hands-on experience while working toward her master’s degree. This has allowed her to expand her knowledge in both an academic and professional setting. As a member of the OSTP, Nicole is learning to develop innovative open source software platforms in the areas of computer vision, scientific computing, data and analytics, medical computing, and software solutions.

Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in business from Cornell University. During her time there, she wrote and won an AspireIT grant from the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT). The grant allowed her to teach a 12 week python class to middle school girls.

Prior to joining Kitware, Nicole worked as an Amazon Future Engineer Intern for the advertisement placement group. There she developed code to automate notifying partners and advertisers when the data they submitted contained errors.
