Martin Duffy is an R&D engineer on Kitware’s Software Solutions Team located in Clifton Park, New York. He is currently enrolled in Kitware’s Open Source Software Technology Program (OSTP). This program will allow him to work full-time, gaining valuable experience, while earning his master’s degree. As a participant in the OSTP, Martin is learning to develop innovative open source software platforms in the areas of computer vision, scientific computing, medical computing, data and analytics, and software solutions.

Prior to joining Kitware, Martin was a software developer at Epic Systems in Madison, Wisconsin. During his time there, he developed healthcare applications used by hospital physicians and analysts.

During his studies at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), he was involved in research with the Lighting Enabled Systems and Applications team (LESA) working on projects to automate lighting and occupancy tracking using time-of-flight sensors.

Martin received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from RPI in 2020 and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in the same field of study.
