Kristen joined Kitware in 2018 as the Compliance Manager before her promotion to Director of Compliance in 2024. She is responsible for managing the internal compliance function of the company to promote legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements and business standards. Her role involves assessments through data analysis, process and control evaluation and improvement, audits, and policy development, maintenance, and training. She also manages organizational conflicts of interest and was a key contributor to the CUI policy implementation for NIST 800-171 compliance and the PHI policy implementation for HIPAA compliance. She serves as Kitware’s Privacy Officer and is a member of the committee that oversees technology and data security controls.

Before joining Kitware, Kristen gained extensive experience in compliance leadership at LeverPoint, where she managed both the Finance and Treasury departments. Her key compliance accomplishments included creating and implementing risk assessments and an internal audit program, as well as having an instrumental role in achieving a successful SOC 1 Type 2 Audit Report. Kristen’s primary compliance responsibilities included managing treasury and transaction compliance services and day-to-day client banking operations through relationship management with over 20 banks and their respective online banking platforms. Prior to LeverPoint, Kristen performed financial audits and internal control risk assessments as an audit associate at KPMG LLP.

Kristen received a B.B.A. in accounting from Siena College. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
